100 Healthy Days™ Week 5- Your DNA is Not Your Destiny. Write a New Family Tree

February 8, 2021 by admin

Many conditions and diseases that are affecting people’s health get blamed on genetics. In the majority of cases, it is not your genetics fault. Unhealthy lifestyles along with spine and nervous system degeneration are often the underlying cause and must be addressed. Schedule your appointment today and follow these tips to get on track.

Stop Killing Yourself

If you are in a destructive energy pattern, stop now, and stay stopped with every choice from this moment on.

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” was the Nursing Home Generation’s motto. It’s time to redefine broke. When you’re out of balance, you’re broke.

Trust your Innate Intelligence

As you begin to turn things around with your choices, your body and mind will strengthen. You will feel yourself getting sharper and younger in mind and body. This will give you the confidence to continue.

Also, your body’s Innate Intelligence makes trillions of new cells for you throughout your lifetime. If there is no interference, it will keep you functioning at your highest level for a lifetime.

Read more about innate intelligence on our 100YL article, Artificial Intelligence VS Innate Intelligence.

Take Care of Your Original Parts

Strengthen your weaknesses and adapt your activities to accommodate any areas of your body that are having challenges.

Don’t Just Treat Your Crisis

Make self-care and health care a priority. Meet with the appropriate health care providers and develop a game plan to optimize your 100 Year Lifestyle while taking into consideration your personal history. Get a second or even a third opinion until the recommendations feel right in your gut, because once again, deep down, you know what is best for you.

Learn Your Family History and Become Proactive With Your Health

We are the first generation in history that will get to know our family tree four to five generations deep. This consists of newborn babies, parents in their twenties, grandparents in their fifties, great grandparents in their seventies, and great, great-grandparents in their late nineties and over 100 years old.

Make self-care and health care a priority specifically as it relates to your family history. Read more about family generations on our 100YL article, Four and Five Generations the New Norm.

Genetic and Lifestyle Misinformation

While genes certainly play a role, a recent study published in the journal Immunity and Aging found that only about 25% of the variation in longevity has to do with genetic factors. You can have much more influence on your lifespan than you may think.

Read more about it in our article, Genetic and Lifestyle Misinformation!

Get Excited About What is Possible From Your Current Starting Point

Look to make progress every day and be careful not to compare yourself to when you were 18 or 35. Get better and feel younger every day through your choices.

100 Healthy Days Week 2- Discovering Youthful Energy at Any Age

January 18, 2021 by admin

Take Your Personal Energy Inventory

Become aware of all the places that you let your energy leak out into the atmosphere. Choose energy-enhancing thoughts, actions, and feelings and begin to make them a part of who you are.

Read more about taking your personal energy inventory on our 100YL article, Your Personal Energy Inventory.

Understand The 5 Dominant Energy Patterns

  • 1) Destructive Pattern
  • 2) Survival Pattern
  • 3) Complacency Pattern
  • 4) Comfort Pattern
  • 5) Human Potential Pattern

Decide which dominant energy pattern you are in and begin to identify your personal human potential pattern. Begin making choices following the Three Life-Changing Principles that support your ideal 100 Year Lifestyle where you are living at your best every day.

Make the Midstream Catch a Habit

Have a 100 percent conscious day. Take it all in and be honest with yourself about when you are destructive, in survival, complacent, comfortable, and when you are at your best. Begin to let go of the things about you that are destructive and rewire yourself for the rest of your 100 years.

Enhance Your Energy Through Positive Choices

Choose thoughts, actions, and feelings and reinforce them throughout the day with personal affirmations. Check out our 100YL podcast, “Youthful Energy at any Age.” This episode on Innate Energy will have you feeling younger at the end of the day than you did at the beginning of the day, even though you are one day older. Stay consistent with what you hear, and the same will be true for the month, year, and a decade or longer.

Listen to Podcast 7- Youthful Energy at Any Age

Monitor Your Breathing, Heart Rate, and Posture

Begin with your breathing and posture immediately because they do not require any equipment. When you are ready, invest in a heart monitor and tune into your heart rate. You will be amazed by what you learn about yourself during this process. Did you know that simply choosing to alter body posture to a more upright position can improve mood and energy levels?

Read more about how your posture can enhance your energy level on our 100 Year Lifestyle article, Why Posture Matters.

Choose High-Energy Foods and Activities

When given the choice of low-energy foods and activities, choose high energy. Choose a power walk over being a couch potato. Choose high-energy foods over low-energy foods. Choose healthy interactions with other people rather than destructive interactions.

Stop and Choose: Take A Personal Energy Inventory and Watch Yourself Like You’re Watching A Movie

When you catch yourself unconsciously doing things that you know you want to change, shift your energy. Literally, say to yourself stop and physically and emotionally stop yourself. Now make a new choice that supports your ideal 100 Year Lifestyle. Initially you may feel like a tennis ball bouncing back and forth 100 times a day. Eventually, you will settle into your human potential pattern, and it will be your lifestyle. You will love it.

100 Percent for 100 Years

November 20, 2018 by admin

Wouldn’t it be great for you and your loved ones to function at your highest level throughout your lifetime, 100 percent for 100 Years? What an exciting goal? This includes being healthy and performing at work, in your hobbies, your passion and activities that are most important and fun for you. For your children it includes growing healthy and strong, performing at their best in school and during extracurricular activities. For everyone, this is a great goal and the best way to get the most out of life.

All of us know people who compromise themselves. This may include you, allowing yourself to function much lower than 100 percent because of health habits or challenges, injury or illness, or due to a chronic condition causing deterioration over time. This compromise can create a limited belief you’re your health cannot improve or a lifelong dream cannot be achieved.

One thing we’ve learned through longevity statistics is that for many people, it is not too late to turn things around. We are the first generation in history to have advance notice that we are probably going to live longer than we ever thought. We are also learning more about the incredible healing and life potential of the human body and mind.

Healthy lifestyle choices combined with a healthy spine and nervous system can ensure that you function and live as close to 100 percent as possible throughout your lifetime. This is the best investment you can make for your health!

Why a healthy nervous system? Your nervous system controls and coordinates all the functions in your body, from movement to digestion and immunity.

Why a healthy spine? Your spine is the structure that holds you upright straight and strong, and it is necessary for you to enjoy the activity you probably want as you age.

Why healthy lifestyle choices? So you fuel your body and keep it fit and functioning well throughout your lifetime. Nobody wants to suffer during their last decades of life and become a burden to their family. Your choices today can make all the difference now as well as in your later years.

When you visit our office, you may notice 3, 4 and 5 generations of families coming into our office for chiropractic care. You may notice individuals in all stages of health and ability to function. Everyone is on their own personal journey towards 100 percent regardless of why they began receiving chiropractic care.

One thing is for sure. The sooner you start on your journey towards 100 percent and optimum function, the greater the likelihood that you will enjoy quality years for up to a century.

This is why millions of people enjoy chiropractic care as part of a lifestyle. Some people experience immediate results from an acute or chronic problem. For others the process of healing takes time. For others, 100 percent means setting a personal record in your chosen sport or field of endeavor. For newborns, it can begin on day one with your family’s commitment to living your ideal 100 Year Lifestyle.

Don’t wait for a crisis to force you to act. There’s no better time than the present to start your journey to 100 percent.

Why Posture Matters

November 15, 2018 by admin

Did you know that your posture today can determine your future success in business, your day-to-day energy levels and how fast you age? Over the course of life, many of us can recall receiving posture reminders such as these:

A parent or grandparent admonishes, “Raise your chin up and quit slouching!”
A teacher demands, “Sit up straight in your chair!”
A drill sergeant commands, “Hold your shoulders back and chest out!”
A dance instructor reminds, “Find your center!”Since most adults no longer have someone nearby to dole out daily reminders, how does following – or not following – the instructions we grew up hearing early in life affect us in the coming years?

Success in the Business World

Harvard Business School recently distributed an article entitled, “The Power of Posture” stating that your stance, broadly speaking, signals to the world how energetic, confident, and powerful you are. Slumped shoulders, a slow pace, and a sagging belly are taken by the world to mean that you lack confidence, that you don’t have much energy, and that you are probably less important, successful, and powerful as a result. These impressions may be neither accurate nor fair, but they are the inevitable results of the fleeting impressions. Prior to your next meeting, take a couple of minutes to “power pose” by standing with your feet apart, hands on your hips, and breathe deep while you visualize a successful outcome to the meeting.

Depression and Energy

In the journal Biofeedback, a study found that simply choosing to alter body posture to a more upright position can improve mood and energy levels. The subjects walked down a hallway in a slouched position and then skipped down the hallway.

The whole group reported slouched walking decreased energy levels while skipping increased energy. The participants were also asked to rate their general depression levels. Those generally more depressed noted far lower energy levels after slouched walking than those who were generally not experiencing depression.

Rather than slouching, consciously bringing yourself upright can relieve dis-ease, low mood, and increase energy throughout the day. Try the 50/10 rule if you sit a lot at work. For every 50 minutes you sit, get up and move around for 10 minutes. Walk the halls with a colleague while discussing a project, take the stairs outside for a quick breath of fresh air or stand up and stretch while completing your calls at your desk.

Aging and Independence

Did you know that your posture can predict your future risk of disability? According to a Japanese study just published in Journals of Gerontology Series A the shape of a person’s spinal column may be an indicator of their need for home assistance later in life. If you knew you could do something now to change things down the road, would you do it? No one wants to require help with bathing, feeding, dressing, going to the bathroom and other simple activities of daily living later in life.

To check your posture or the posture of a loved one, schedule an appointment for a chiropractic examination today or contact our office and request a Posture Test form. It’s time to get your spine and nervous system checked for spine and nervous system imbalances whether you feel them or not.

The evidence is clear: If you want to live an active, healthy, long life, your ideal 100 Year Lifestyle, you’ve got to have a healthy spine and nervous system. Place your success, energy and independence at the top of your list by making your posture a high priority.
